Introduction

Axi, known as AxiTrader until a rebrand, was founded in Sydney in 2007. It is a straightforward forex and CFD broker built around MetaTrader, with low-cost raw pricing on its Pro account and licenses in Australia, the UK, the EU, Dubai and New Zealand. Many people know it as the long-running sponsor of Manchester City.

This review covers Axi’s accounts, costs, platforms and regulation, based on Axi’s own pages and independent reviews from October 2026.

History of Axi

Axi started in 2007 as AxiTrader and grew through MetaTrader trading with competitive raw pricing. It added licenses from the UK’s FCA, Dubai’s DFSA, New Zealand’s FMA and, more recently, CySEC in the EU, and built its own trading app and a copy trading app.

Since 2020 Axi has sponsored Manchester City, extending the deal to Manchester City Women in 2023.

Where does Axi Operate

  • Australia: AxiCorp Financial Services Pty Ltd, regulated by ASIC
  • UK: Axi Financial Services (UK) Limited, authorized by the FCA
  • EU: an entity regulated by CySEC
  • Middle East: a DFSA-regulated entity in Dubai
  • New Zealand: an entity regulated by the FMA
  • Other countries: AxiTrader LLC, registered in St Vincent and the Grenadines, which is a business registration rather than broker regulation

Axi does not accept US clients.

Investment Offering

Axi’s range is focused on what most forex traders use:

  • Forex: about 70 currency pairs
  • Indices: around 30
  • Commodities and metals: energies, gold, silver and more
  • Share CFDs: a smaller selection than the big multi-asset brokers
  • Crypto CFDs: available through some entities

Axi UK advertises over 450 instruments including ETFs, while the international entity lists fewer. UK clients can also spread bet.

Trading Platforms

  • MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5: the core platforms, with Expert Advisor support and add-on tools
  • Axi trading platform: Axi’s own web and mobile platform
  • Axi Copy Trading app: for following and copying other traders
  • TradingView: available through some entities

Axi Account Types

  • Standard: spread only, from about 1 pip on EUR/USD. No meaningful minimum deposit.
  • Pro: raw spreads from 0 pips plus about $7 per round-turn lot.
  • Elite: raw spreads plus $3.50 per round-turn lot, for accounts with at least $25,000.
  • Professional: higher leverage for qualifying clients in regulated regions.

A demo account with $50,000 in virtual funds is available for 30 days.

Accepted Countries

Axi accepts clients from most countries through its regional entities. It does not accept US residents. Retail clients in Australia, the UK, the EU and Dubai are capped at 1:30 leverage on major pairs. Clients outside those regions are placed with AxiTrader LLC in St Vincent and the Grenadines, where leverage goes up to 1:1000 but there is no real regulatory protection.

Copy Trading Features

Axi has its own Axi Copy Trading app, which lets you follow and copy other traders. In the UK it is provided in partnership with London & Eastern LLP. Some entities also support third-party services such as DupliTrade (with a higher minimum deposit), Myfxbook and ZuluTrade.

Deposit & Withdrawals

Axi does not charge deposit fees on its listed methods, which include bank transfer, cards, Skrill, Neteller and crypto depending on your entity. Withdrawals by bank transfer, Skrill and Neteller are free, and crypto withdrawals are free above a small minimum. A currency conversion fee applies if you deposit in a different currency from your account.

Axi Spread and Commissions

  • Standard: spread only, about 1 pip on EUR/USD on average
  • Pro: from 0 pips plus about $7 per round-turn lot
  • Elite: from 0 pips plus $3.50 per round-turn lot, for $25,000+ accounts

The Pro account is competitive with other raw-spread brokers, and the Elite tier is one of the cheaper options for larger traders.

Axi Fees and Costs

  • Deposits: free on listed methods
  • Withdrawals: free by bank transfer, Skrill and Neteller
  • Currency conversion: charged if your deposit currency differs from your account currency
  • Swaps: overnight financing on leveraged positions

Check Axi’s fee page for your region for any account maintenance charges.

  • Autochartist: free pattern recognition for all clients.
  • PsyQuation: an analytics tool that reviews your trading habits, available with a qualifying deposit.
